As I reflected on this it struck me that we are often living and moving in the fog as we go through our lives. We are so focused on what is right in front of us that we can’t see the bigger picture. We are so troubled by the struggles or problems that we are facing that it obscures God’s gracious and powerful hand that is guiding us and all things to his purpose for his glory. The trials and struggles of life can obscure but we must always remember that God is there and there is so much more to this life than what we can possibly imagine. We just have to have faith that God is there.
Someday the fog will lift. Someday we will see clearly. In fact, the Bible says that right now we see things dimly as in a mirror but some day we will see things face to face. (1 Corinthians 13:12) Even more than that, Paul writes that we will know even as we are fully known by God. We will be able to have vision and clarity far beyond anything we can imagine! So on those foggy days when it seems like nothing makes sense and you can barely keep going, remember that God is above and someday all things will indeed become clear.
